Description

Iridium satellite phones offer voice, data, and texting with global coverage. The Iridium 9555 satellite phone is both economical and at 9.4 oz very lightweight. Its internally stowed antenna is protected but easily deployed for use. The Iridium 9555 comes with a 4 hour talk time battery but an optional high capacity battery offers up to 6.5 hours of talk time.

Other features include an integrated speakerphone, texting and email capabilities, and a redesigned and intuitive user interface.

INTERNET: The Iridium 9555 has a Mini-USB data port. All you need to access the internet is a computer with a USB port. Outfitter Satellite offers free Iridium-optimized email software for use with Windows computers that automatically compresses text and attachments and can use black and white lists to prevent undesired spam.

If you are looking for a hardware-based solution, the new AxcessPoint WiFi adapter for the Iridium 9555 and Iridium Extreme will turn your Iridium into an internet hotspot.
